About the Festival
One of New Zealand's longest running Jazz & Blues festivals, in its' 25th year in 2010, is held annually in August.
Be in the Bay of Islands as it comes alive with the sounds of smooth jazz and sultry blues. Three days of music, over 150 hours of quality jazz and blues. 13th, 14th & 15th August 2010.
Buy your festival badge and get free access to any of the venues. The bands move around so once you are there you can just wait and the music comes to you every hour! Or you can move around too and enjoy the street music while you are.
There is a wide variety of music - everything from Traditional Jazz to solid Blues. Something for everyone. |

Artists
Star headline act in 2009, and booked again for 2010 is Barry Charles, an amazing extreme vocalist from Australia, performing with Haggis MacGuinness, one of New Zealand's finest harmonica players. Other acts confirmed for 2010 include The Jukes, Kokomo, Thelonius Punk, Jazzerati, the Funky Doo Dahs and Kniki & Mike Beale from Australia, Good Oil, Cross Talk, Lounge Sweet, River Rockers, Shingle Bob, The Wizard & Oz and more. Venues
Five great venues in Paihia, Russell and Haruru Falls. Plus loads of free street music Saturday and Sunday and Jazz on the Steam Train in Kawakawa. The great thing about this festival is that you can go to one venue and the bands come to you! Just buy your Festival Badge (only $40) and that gives you free entry to all venues. |

Transport and Accommodation
Your festival pass gets you cheap ferry fares between Paihia and Russell and a regular free shuttle bus between the venues. Visit the website for full Jazz shuttle timetables.
Accomodation is available in all the great motels and hotels in the area, including at the main venues.
